Empty Classroom Day

Back to the news pages...

We have been working hard to think about waste and ways that we can conserve energy to benefit the environment.  Today, we switched off the lights and heating, grabbed our wellies and decamped to Brooke Priory House for a fantastic Empty Classroom Day!  The Form VI children loved using their penknives to whittle wood, the children in Years I & II found ways to take the maths curriculum outside and the nursery children searched for bugs of all shapes and sizes—to mention but a few.  Mr Appleton’s box of binoculars caused great excitement as many classes had the opportunity to bird watch.  It was terrifically heart warming to see so many happy, smiling, relaxed children from our youngest 2 year olds to those pupils just about to leave Brooke Priory.  We hope we have filled their heads with wonderful memories.
